Our latest featured member, Tracy Childs, of Skintuition, has provided skin and laser treatments in prominent medical practices and medspas in Northern Virginia since 2004. Passionate about education, she has an impressive scope of knowledge, and we are thrilled to have her as a member.
Tracy attended the prestigious Yvonne de Vilar Scientific Skincare School for her initial 600 hours of training and returned to graduate in the first 600 hour master aesthetics program in our area. Additionally, she earned a postgraduate diploma from The International Dermal Institute and a Certificate in Natural Products Manufacturing from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. To expand the reach of her services to include those going through cancer therapies, she also completed an extensive certification course in Oncology Esthetics.
Most recently, Tracy has become a certified Holistic Skin Specialist and proudly, was one of the very first to complete the program. Currently, she is enrolled in the Gut Health Specialist Certification Course from the Holistic Wellness Coaching Academy. Simply put, Tracy is a lifelong learner!
In addition to being an entrepreneur, Tracy is also a licensed master aesthetics instructor and enjoys sharing her knowledge with future aestheticians.
We spoke to Tracy about the role that Nutritional Aesthetics® plays in her business and her approach to skin health:
What excites you the most about the Nutritional Aesthetics® Alliance?
I have been an aesthetician for 13 years and it is only in the last 4 years that I have changed my focus to treating clients holistically. I am on a mission to do things differently in the skincare industry and can’t get enough education. The Herbal Skincare Summit, which the Nutritional Aesthetics Alliance co-sponsored, was exactly what I needed and at the right time to remind me how much information is out there. I can’t wait to learn from this amazing organization and everyone who supports it.
How do you apply Nutritional Aesthetics® principles to your work?
In the past few months, I have gotten an increase in acne clients who are more than fed up with Western medicine’s method of treatment. Most of my career has been working for dermatologists…so I know exactly why they are frustrated. There is such a huge connection between what is going on inside our bodies and what shows up on the outside. Applying the Nutritional Aesthetics principles in my practice as an aesthetician will strengthen my skills and allow me to be even more valuable to my clients.
Please complete this sentence, and elaborate as much as you wish: “For optimal skin health, I wish people would do more of ___________________, and less of ___________________.”
For optimal skin health, I wish people would do more of the things that keep their stress level down such as enjoying nature and taking time to relax, and less of medicating themselves with poor food choices and alcohol.
We are so grateful to Tracy Childs for being a dedicated member of the Nutritional Aesthetics® Alliance!
